If you’re curious about the Catholic Church, want to learn more about it, or are even ready to convert, what can you do? Look at our R.C.I.A. program.
What is R.C.I.A., you ask?
R.C.I.A. stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, and it is the formal program that allows individuals to become members of the Catholic Church. R.C.I.A. programs tend to start in the Fall, so this is a great time to begin considering joining the program before they start up again.
R.C.I.A. is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of Faith and Conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God's help they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation, and at the proper time, will receive the Sacraments fruitfully.
Originally started for adults who have not been Baptized and Catechized in the Church, R.C.I.A. is a journey, both spritually (and a little academically) which helps the person seeking God to grow in Faith, Hope, and Love.
Joining the R.C.I.A. Program, however, does NOT mean you HAVE to join the Church. You’re always welcome to just come and learn, and if you decide it’s not for you — or maybe you just aren’t ready yet because you have more questions — you can opt out or continue on again next year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call, and we will have someone answer any questions you have.
